“Experience Jiangsu Understand China” Activity of Jiangsu Province for 1000 Foreign Friends Launched in Suzhou

The launching ceremony of “Experience Jiangsu Understand China” Activity of Jiangsu Province for 1000 Foreign Friends was held in Changshu, Suzhou on October 29th. Bai Suning, President of Jiangsu Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries attended and addressed the event. The other attendees included 30 foreign friends from 11 countries such as Japan, Germany, France, the United States, etc..


As called on by President Xi Jinping, the activity was organized to present to foreigners a real, vivid and full picture of China as well as the Communist Party of China. President Bai stated in her remarks that the field trips could increase foreigners’ knowledge of China including the fast economic growth, the long-term social stability, the great achievement of successfully building a moderately prosperous society in all respects and many other development miracles. Through the events, our foreign friends will be keenly aware that the socialist development path and system with Chinese characteristics are unparalleled as they are in line with China’s realities; the recipe for China’s success lies in upholding the centralized and unified leadership of the Party, the national policy of Reform and Opening-up and the people-centered governance philosophy and strategies; the CPC is a party who has stayed true to its founding mission, sought wellbeing for the people, striven for the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and pursued progress for humanity.


The launching ceremony was followed by field trips to Jiangxiang Village, Changshu Switch Factory and the City Exhibition Center. The attendees were briefed on the local economic and social development and had a meeting with some locals, gaining an understanding about the development of the high-tech industries in Changshu, rural revitalization, improvement of people’s living standards and the city’s development history. It is hoped that both Chinese and foreign attendees could learn from each other and strengthen friendship after the events so as to intensify cultural and people-to-people exchanges.
