At the invitation of Carl Decaluwe Governor of Province of West Flanders Belgium, sister city of Suzhou, Deputy Party Secretary and Acting Mayor Wu Qingwen visited the Exhibitor’s Booth of Port of Zeebrugge in the 4th China International Import Expo (CIIE). During the visit, he carefully listened to the introduction of the Port of Zeebrugge in terms of its geographical advantages, port facilities, logistics services, investment, strategies and the cooperation with COSCO Shipping.

As the second largest sea port in Belgium, Port of Zeebrugge is located in Province of West Flanders Belgium, facing the North Sea, the busiest sea transportation line in the world and connecting the western and northern Europe. It is one of the world’s foremost roll-on/roll-off and deep sea container ports, where over 40 million tonnes of goods are transferred every year. In January 2018, COSCO Shipping signed a franchise agreement with Zeebrugge Port Authority and took control of the management of the Port and devoted to building it to be the gateway in the western and northern Europe.

Zeebrugge Port Authority did not attend the CIIE this year due to the impact of the COVID-19 and authorized its partner COSCO Shipping to arrange the preparation and reception of its booth during the event.
