“Together for a Shared Future: Exhibit of Paintings by Teenagers from Suzhou and its European Friendship Cities” Opened in Suzhou

The opening ceremony of “Together for a Shared Future: Exhibit of Paintings by Teenagers from Suzhou and its European Friendship Cities” was held at Museum of Wu on January 27.

With paintings featuring winter sports, Spring Festival and friendship, the youth from Suzhou and its European Friendship Cities including Venice (Italy), Tulcea (Romania), Grenoble (France), Riesa (Germany), Nowy Sacz (Poland) and Nagykoros (Hungary) expressed their best wishes for the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022, promoting the Olympic spirit of “Together”.

Co-hosted by Suzhou Foreign Affairs Office, Suzhou Administration of Sports and People’s Government of Wuzhong District, the exhibit will last until February 27, 2022.

At the opening ceremony, Massimiliano DeMartin, Deputy Mayor of Venice, Italy, as well as the young artists participating the exhibit sent video congratulations, wishing the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 a complete success, and wishing Suzhou citizens a very Happy Chinese New Year of the Tiger.

The Beijing Olympic Winter Games officially opened on February 4. For some of Suzhou's international friendship cities, there have been close bonds with the Winter Olympics. Grenoble, France hosted the Winter Olympics in 1968. Cortina d’Ampezzo, a city near Venice in Veneto Region, Italy, will be one of the host cities of the Winter Olympics in 2026.
